Rebetiko is Greece's urban traditional music born on the fringes of society at the beginning of the last century in Piraeus, the port of Athens. A branch of music inscribed since 2017 on UNESCO's list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, whose songs deal with themes such as injustice, pain, crime, drugs, prison, love, separation, joy, hope, etc. Therefore, the comparison between rebetiko and the blues is inevitable and it is these similarities that the Parea music band will explore in this concert.
